ONSITE TRAINING AND CONSULTING AVAILABLE!
What is the NRV CDRC?
- The New River Valley - Community Disaster Response Coalition is a non profit disaster mental health organization.
- Teams of trained volunteers work with local agencies to develop, train for, and deliver disaster mental health support services.
- The CDRC was founded in 2001 after the September 11th terrorist attacks and operates under the auspices of A-kee, Inc. (a private non profit organization dedicated to mental health services and education).
- We train people from all walks of life to serve as disaster support team members. CDRC team members take an 8 hour training program and go through a security background check in order to receive their CDRC identification badge and CDRC apparel.
This team served in the Wolf Creek Floods in Giles County, Virginia.
